The story

Rope chain is laid in a helix, short segments twisting around one another so the whole length spirals. Each segment is cut with flat faces, which is why it throws light in short flashes as it moves rather than shining in one even line.

Gold plated 925 sterling silver, roughly 1.5 mm through, nineteen and a half inches, closing on a lobster clasp with a hinged trigger on the end cap. It does the most work October to February, when there is a function most weekends and the chain has to go with all of them.
