The story

Lakshmi is seated at the centre of all six motifs, each one raised into a round gold plaque with small green and dark stones set around her and a spiked border of gold granules worked outside that. They are threaded straight through all four strands rather than hung off them, so they lie flat on the chest.

The strands are shell pearls with tiny gold beads between them, broken by sections of oval green beads, twenty four inches in all. Nakaas work like this belongs to the third day of a wedding.
