The story

The fan shape spreads the weight across the lobe instead of hanging it all from one point.

A peacock roundel sits at the top, Lakshmi at the centre, and sunflower rosettes run round the border with dark cabochons set between them. Round green beads and freshwater pearls fringe the widened lower edge. Antique gold plating, 925 sterling silver beneath it, South Indian screw backs.
