The story

Nine large flat uncut polki make the entire outer frame, set edge to edge in a closed ring. Inside them a pear cut green stone sits in four plain gold claws, four smaller polki fill the base, and two swept pave wings run out to either side, each tipped with a red dot.

The shape is a lotus bud, pointed at both ends, and it seats upright: a safa front, a lapel, the shoulder of a saree pallu. Bright gold over 925 sterling silver, 4 cm tall and 3.1 cm across, with a pin bite of about 3.5 cm at the back.
