The story

Along two fine gold snake strands, small stone beads are spaced at intervals, each one pinched between two tiny gold caps, and the stations on one strand fall between the stations on the other. The blue is opaque and mottled, closer to slate than to sky; the aqua is semi translucent and faceted, so it lights from inside rather than off the surface.

Fourteen inches sits high on the neck, and a gold paperclip extender lets it down from there to a lobster clasp. Gold over 925 sterling silver, machine made in the Italian way, light enough to go on with cotton in the morning and stay on for dinner.
