The story

Across each shoulder sits a round rosette: an oval red stone ringed by pear and oval uncut white in gold foil, with a scalloped gold border around it. Between them run ten strands of tiny rice pearls with faceted red beads scattered through, and nothing hangs at the centre front.

The strands gather into gold end caps and finish in a braided ivory cord with a thread tassel, so the length is knotted where you want it. It goes back into the almirah with the cord still tied. Pearls this small are strung by hand, one at a time.
