The story

Flattened lozenge segments, each about three times as long as it is wide, butted end to end with a slight overlap. Run a thumb along it and the surface reads as a smooth flattened rope, not a row of separate parts.

Gold plated 925 sterling silver, around 1.5 mm across, twenty two inches long, closing on an S hook at the back. It lies dead flat under a kurta collar and it is wide enough to read as a chain from across a room. That length clears a high neckline and carries a heavier pendant without riding up.
