The story

One kundan lotus to each hoop, its petals cut in pear shapes and set tight against the metal. The wire is left plain gold plated 925 sterling silver so nothing competes with the flower. Red, white and blue kundan, one colour to a pair.

The hoop slips through the lobe and closes on its own wire, so they go on without thinking and stay on through the day. The lotus turns on the wire as you move.
