The story

Count the colours from the middle outward: pink red at the centre, then a field of six deep blue kundan, then a rim of white petals. Every stone is flat cut and closed into its own gold cell, so the whole face sits level.

Red carries across a room, and this one sits high on the hand where it is looked at on Karva Chauth. Underneath, the band slides through two small loops, so the fit is set by hand.
