The story

Oxidised almost to black across the head, with the band beneath it left bright gold. Twelve white uncut stones ring a single round green one, six pointed inward and six round, each held in its own dark rim.

Between the settings the metal is cut through, so light reaches the stones from behind as well as the front. Underneath, the two ends of the band pass each other, and it opens to the finger.
