The story

The Lakshmi panels are on the inside, where only the wearer knows they are there. The outer face carries peacocks, a conch and fluted lotus worked in deep relief across the full width, in antique gold over 925 sterling silver.

It opens on a hinge and shuts with a pin. Nothing is set into it: at this width, stones would compete with the relief instead of supporting it.
