The story

Lakshmi sits on the stud at the top; below her the crescent opens out, ringed with peacocks and set with dark cabochons.

Small gold ghungroo hang along the curve, and a single green bead with a pearl finishes the base. The whole earring is 925 sterling silver in an antique gold finish, on South Indian screw backs. The chand bali is an old shape and it survives on proportion, not on additions.
