The story

A full round of fluted petals opens from a small red stone, ringed at the edge by a border of gold granules. Nothing complicated in the geometry: it is a sun, and it reads as one from across a table.

Antique gold over 925 sterling silver, with an open band that adjusts. The fluting throws light in bands as the hand moves, which a flat petal would not do.
